Dorchester Elementary welcomed a special group of guests on December 12th as grandparents joined their kindergarten through sixth-grade students for the school’s annual Grandparents’ Day celebration.
Students and their grandparents enjoyed a warm meal of chili and cinnamon rolls together, creating a memorable opportunity to connect and spend time as families within the school setting. Following lunch, students and their guests moved to the gym to explore an interactive exhibit provided by the Edgerton Explorit Center. The exhibit featured more than thirty hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities, allowing students and grandparents to learn side by side through engaging, inquiry-based experiences. Junior high and high school students also had the opportunity to explore the Edgerton Explorit Center exhibit, extending the hands-on learning experience across all grade levels.
Grandparents’ Day was a celebration of family, learning, and community, and we appreciate everyone who helped make this special event a success.
